The Daily Minute ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our app and website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using The Daily Minute, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use the app:

• Account information — your email address and display name (username), provided when you register with email or sign in with Google or Apple.
• Game data — your daily challenge completion times, scores, tier progression, streaks, and achievement history.
• Friends and rivals list — the usernames of players you have added as friends or entered a weekly rivalry with.
• Push notification token — a device token (FCM token) used to deliver push notifications such as rival activity alerts and daily reminders. This token is stored securely and not used for any other purpose.
• Crash and diagnostic data — anonymous crash reports and basic device information (OS version, device model) collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix bugs. This data does not include your name, email, or any personal content.
• Camera — camera access is requested only if you use the QR code feature to add a friend by scanning their code. We do not store, transmit, or process any images from your camera.
• Usage metadata — timezone information inferred by Firebase when you use the app, used to determine your local daily challenge reset time.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or any payment information.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display your times and rankings on the global and friends leaderboards
• Calculate your tier level and track progression over time
• Allow friends to see each other's daily times and rankings
• Power the weekly rivals feature, including showing scores between matched players
• Send push notifications for rival activity, challenge alerts, and daily reminders (only if you grant permission)
• Identify and fix crashes and bugs via anonymous diagnostic reports
• Improve app performance and user experience

We do not use your information to serve you advertisements, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

How We Store Your Information

Your account and game data are stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service operated by Google LLC. Data is stored on Google's servers and is subject to Google's security standards.

Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication, which supports email/password sign-in, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple. We do not store passwords directly — authentication credentials are managed by these providers.

Information Visible to Other Users

The following information may be visible to other players:

• Your username (display name)
• Your daily challenge completion times and leaderboard rank
• Your tier level
• Your weekly rival scores, visible only to the specific player you are matched against in a rivalry

Your email address is never visible to other users.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Google Firebase (Firestore) — database storage and user authentication
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notification delivery
• Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reporting and diagnostics
• Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method
• Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in method

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data. We encourage you to review them if you have questions about how your data is processed at the infrastructure level.

Children's Privacy

The Daily Minute is playable by users of all ages. Players under 13 may use the app in guest mode, which requires no account creation and collects no personal information. Guest mode allows full access to all games but does not post times to any leaderboard. Account creation, which enables leaderboard participation, requires users to be 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through account registration. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data — you can do this directly within the app from your Profile screen, or by contacting us at the email below

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
